Threading is a safe and effective technique that involves introducing threads under the skin to stimulate collagen and tighten the skin. The threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), which dissolve after 6 months and has a lasting effect up to 2 years. These threads can be used in combination with botulinum toxin and fillers for best results.

The threads have an immediate mechanical lifting effect and will continue to stimulate your own collagen over the next few months. Therefore the optimum results are expected 3 months later.

  • What To Expect
Dermal fillers are facial fillers which are injected just under the skin in small, controlled amounts. The facial filler helps to smooth lines and wrinkles, fill sunken areas and smooth out the overall appearance of your face. If you’re having dermal lip fillers, these help to plump up your pout and restore a natural, more youthful lip shape. The results of each are instant and can last anywhere between 6 and 12 months. And don’t worry about pain: the areas of your face which are going to be injected can be numbed prior to your treatment, so at the most you’ll feel only mild discomfort. Booking a dermal filler appointment is the fastest route to diminishing your lines and wrinkles. A dermal filler treatment helps to smooth the contours of your face and leave you looking (and feeling) years younger. The biggest benefit of having dermal fillers is that it’s a speedy, non-invasive treatment that you could even squeeze into your lunch hour. Dermal fillers help to replace that youthful plumpness to your skin, and the effects can last a long time if you follow your recommended dermal filler aftercare instructions.
  • Possible Side effects
Dermal fillers are considered to be safe but side effects can occur. The most common problems include: skin rash, itching, or pimple-like eruptions redness, bruising, bleeding, or swelling undesirable appearance, such as asymmetry, lumps, or overcorrection of wrinkles skin damage that causes a wound, infection, or scarring ability to feel the filler substance under the skin blindness or other vision problems death of skin cells due to loss of blood flow to the area
  • Aftercare
Dermal fillers aftercare advice usually recommends avoiding alcohol after your treatment, especially if you’re experiencing swelling. This is fairly common and will subside quickly. It’s also wise, as part of your cosmetic fillers aftercare, to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive exposure to the sun following your treatment. Some dermal filler aftercare instructions advise avoiding the use of makeup straight after treatment, as it’s preferred to allow your skin to ‘breathe’, but you can ask your practitioner about this if you want to be able to use makeup straight away. Finally, after your dermal fillers have been injected, it’s wise to avoid rubbing or touching the areas of injection, especially if you’re experiencing a bit of swelling. Bruising is pretty uncommon but it can occur. If you do have a touch of bruising, this can be easily covered by concealer. There are certain high-grade skin care products which can help prolong the effects of your dermal fillers; you can ask your practitioner for some recommendations.
  • Dermal lip filler aftercare
If you have had lip filler, you should follow all the dermal fillers aftercare advice above but also, you should avoid wearing lipstick or lip balm for 24 hours following your treatment. With lip fillers, it’s common to experience tenderness and unevenness so it’s important that you follow your practitioner’s dermal lip filler aftercare instructions to ensure this improves quickly. If you experience any swelling, you can ask your practitioner for mini ice packs designed specifically for minimising swelling around the mouth.

Fox Eye

Dreaming of sexy, ‘cat-like’ eyes? The hugely popular PDO threat eye lift or ‘fox eye lift’ is now available at our Elements Medical, Doncaster. A fast, relatively pain-free treatment with big results the fox eye lift can be done on your lunch break.

PDO threads one of the most innovative non-surgical treatments available on the market today. Delivering results that could only previously be applied with surgery or multiple dermal fillers.

The fox eye lift is designed to lift the outer corners of your eyes and the tail of your eyebrow, giving the eye a very desirable shape, and reducing sagging related to age. The treatment is popular with several high-profile celebrities because of the beautiful eye shape that can be created.

The treatment is quite simple – using dissolvable suture threads, the outer brow and eye corner is pulled to lift any sagging of the upper eyelid. The amount of lift given is completely customisable, depending on the severity of sagging and the result you want to achieve.

Benefits Of Fox Eye Lift

  • Sexy ‘cat-eye’ shape

  • Reduced sagging of the upper eyelid

  • Correct droopy eyes

  • Very few side effects

Sclerotherapy is a non surgical treatment for spider veins, where a sclerosing agent is injected directly into the vein using a nano needle causing them to shrink.

Plasma Fibroblast

Plasma Fibroblasting Treatment works similarly to an ablative (fractional) laser. On a minute surface of the skin accurately directed energy damages very specific skin cells to encourage regrowth and renewal. This does not only improve the skin tone and texture, but it can also reduce scarring, improve a number of common skin problems and increase skin contour.

Even though skin layers get damaged by plasma in a controlled manner (by heating, fragmentation, vaporization – sublimation and coagulation), they do not burn off as they largely do under ablative laser and, importantly, there is no open wound during the healing phase. This is extremely important as this approach reduces the risk of side effects such as scarring, infection, loss of pigmentation etc.

After the treatment small dry spots – scabs form. They need 5-7 days to fall off and during this time the client should keep the skin surface clean (use Octenisept and lukewarm water) and protect it with cream which we will present later.

Meet   Sam

Hi my name is Sam. I am a qualified Dental Hygienist/ Therapist, I graduated from Liverpool in 2008. Prior to that I studied Psychology, specifically I was interested in the psychology of pain and how I could reduce pain experienced in a dental setting. I love learning and fell in love with facial aesthetics when I attended a course in 2008. I have continued learning ever since, remaining up to date with the continual developments with both Dentistry and Aesthetics both which are continually evolving, which is what makes my professional journey so interesting.

I initially trained in Aesthetics with Medfx in Botox, Dermal Fillers and Chemical Peels. Over the years I have continued to educated myself with some of the best trainers in the field, improving both my knowledge and skills and I now offer more advanced techniques such as facial contouring, PDO threads along with a range of beauty and holistic treatments. My job is so rewarding and I feel really passionate about all of the treatments that I am able to offer.

I haven't lost my passion for dentistry, this was my first love, starting my career as a dental nurse at just 16 years old, then a practice manager and now a practice owner. I am lucky that I am able to offer all of my skills in the same setting. I offer direct access to a range of dental care including routine treatments like exams, restorations, oral hygiene and periodontal treatments and also cosmetic treatments like tooth whitening and composite bonding, which is a fantastic alternative to the more widely known veneers and less invasive. I am a creative person with attention for detail who can offer a range of Aesthetic services in a safe and professional environment.
